The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t unfold until season 3, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced recently that the talented performer has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a interpretation of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the initial comic and animated series.

Escola joins several other new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to life, including chief Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.

Although this character is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
