Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
